IESE and MIT Sloan Join Forces to Help Global CEOs Reach New Heights

  • New program for leading CEOs includes modules in Cambridge MA, Singapore, and Barcelona.

IESE has joined forces with the MIT Sloan School of Management to boost C-suite leadership worldwide. The two leading business schools have combined their expertise to create the Global CEO Program, a transformational learning experience to help senior executives lead their enterprises to new levels of excellence.

The collaboration harnesses the respective strengths and insights of both schools—MIT Sloan’s wealth of expertise from working at the intersection of management and technology along with the breadth and depth of IESE´s global perspective on business—with a focus on positive impact.

IESE Dean Franz Heukamp noted, “In a global business environment that’s increasingly complex and uncertain, the job of a CEO has become more difficult than ever. That’s why I am thrilled IESE is working with MIT Sloan Executive Education to provide an exceptional learning experience for C-suite executives, one that draws on the deep knowledge and know-how of two world-renowned institutions. With a teaching approach that combines cutting-edge thinking with practical application to solve real-world problems, this program equips CEOs with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to gain a sustained competitive advantage.”

“MIT Sloan and IESE share a dedication to purpose and impact, and this new collaboration in executive education delivers both for business leaders who need to accelerate the capability to create and capture value in an increasingly complex and uncertain global business environment,” added Peter Hirst, Senior Associate Dean at MIT Sloan.  “Our combined faculty bring unparalleled expertise, insights, and practical tools and frameworks to help leaders foresee and recognize new business challenges and opportunities as well as design and implement systematic solutions that will keep them ahead of the competition…all while building a powerful network of peers across many countries and industries.”

The seven-month-long executive program, which includes modules taught on three continents, is designed for CEOs, owners, presidents, board members, and top-tier executives from across the world. By coupling the faculty and teaching expertise of two world-renowned business schools, the program gives C-suite executives unique insights into leading globally.

The program begins in October 2023 with a residential module taught at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Participants will be exposed to topics such as expanding their global footprint, building cross-cultural organizations, and structuring corporate governance. The second module, taught in Singapore in January 2024, explores the complexities and opportunities of doing business in Asia, alongside issues like digital transformation and how to consider cross-border differences when defining strategy. The final module takes place at IESE’s campus in Barcelona in May 2024 and addresses matters such as how to achieve profitable growth in an uncertain environment and rethinking innovation processes, among others.

Throughout, participants learn from and network with high-level peers from global organizations, gain access to some of the finest minds in business, and get tailored leadership plans and peer coaching…all while debating, discussing, and reflecting on the issues that can transform their global leadership skills.
